Maintaining the Highest Grade: Level 3 (Advanced)
CJ Freshway announced on July 4 that its Icheon Logistics Center has obtained the Global Logistics Certification (GLC) for food safety in food material distribution, organized by the Korea Distribution Food Association (KDFA), for the second consecutive year.
CJ Freshway maintained the highest grade, 'Level 3 (Advanced),' recording an improved evaluation score compared to last year. The GLC is a certification system that evaluates and certifies the overall food safety level in food material distribution, focusing on logistics center facilities and operations, the number of vehicles, and delivery management. It is divided into three grades: Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced. The evaluation covers six areas, including food safety management systems, product and facility management, and supplier management.
Established in 2010, the CJ Freshway Icheon Logistics Center is a facility that has acquired major international certifications such as the Food Safety Management System (ISO22000), Environmental Management System (ISO14001), and Occupational Health and Safety Management System (ISO45001), and is operated under systematic management and supervision. The center is equipped with a cold chain system that maintains refrigerated and frozen products at appropriate temperatures throughout the entire distribution process, from inbound and outbound logistics to sorting, storage, and delivery. Automated facilities for product classification and inventory management have also been introduced to enhance work efficiency and accuracy. In addition, the center operates its own food safety laboratory, a nationally certified testing and inspection institution, enabling real-time analysis and verification of distributed products.
A CJ Freshway representative stated, "We are pleased to have once again proven our industry-leading food material distribution safety and logistics capabilities by obtaining the GLC certification this year, following last year." The representative added, "As providing safe food quickly is the core of the food material distribution business, we will continue to strengthen our related capabilities going forward."
