Resolving Job Mismatches, Strengthening Talent Supply
The Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME) announced on July 4 that it has signed a business agreement with Korea Polytechnics to foster outstanding talent for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and startups and to address workforce shortages.
This agreement was pursued to support the sustainable growth of SMEs and startups by leveraging the expertise and infrastructure of both organizations, as well as to create stable job opportunities for job seekers and lay the foundation for promoting youth entrepreneurship.
The main points of the agreement include: ▲mutual cooperation in nurturing outstanding talent to promote employment at SMEs; ▲joint implementation of work-study programs to cultivate technical personnel; ▲development and utilization of customized educational curricula; ▲fostering and discovering entrepreneurs through connections with the Youth Startup Academy; and ▲providing information and promoting the Naeil Chaeum Deduction program.
In particular, the two organizations agreed to link the network of the "Corporate Workforce Support Center," which is operated by KOSME under the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and supports practical workplace needs, with the educational sites of Korea Polytechnics nationwide. Through this, they aim to resolve job mismatches in the industrial field and strengthen the supply system for practical talent.
Kang Seokjin, Chairman of KOSME, stated, "This agreement is an example of building a collaborative foundation that enables SME support organizations and educational institutions to proactively respond to talent demand in the industrial field." He added, "We will continue to faithfully fulfill our social responsibility as an SME support organization through various means such as technology-focused practical education, employment matching, and startup support."
