Eunpyeong District conducted a survey and assessed the living conditions of independent youth who are vulnerable to housing insecurity after leaving protective facilities. The district prioritized and supported those whose housing environments were especially poor. The first house, an old villa, was newly renovated through customized repairs including wallpapering, flooring, insulation work, kitchen and bathroom remodeling, pest control, and a thorough cleaning. The renovation took two weeks, after which the youth moved back into the improved home.

This project was promoted through a business agreement between Eunpyeong District and the Korea Collective Building Social Cooperative. In addition to home repairs, the district provides comprehensive support, including inspections of safety devices such as fire alarms and gas leak detectors, living essentials worth 200,000 won, maintenance education, and post-management services.

The independent youth who moved into the first house shared, "The house is much cleaner and more comfortable, and I think it will be a great support in my daily life."

Kim Mikyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong District, stated, "I am pleased and grateful that the first home repair project has been successfully completed," and added, "Starting with the first house, we will actively support more independent youth so that they can settle into society in a healthy and safe environment."
