National Assembly Speaker Woo Wonshik announced on the 3rd that, "In response to the requests of both the ruling and opposition parties, the 427th session of the National Assembly (extraordinary session) will be convened at 2 p.m. on July 7."
According to the National Assembly Act, the Speaker is required to announce the date of the session at least three days prior when there is a request to convene an extraordinary session.
During the July extraordinary session, both parties plan to continue discussions on major bills and to hold confirmation hearings for the first ministerial nominees of the Lee Jaemyung administration.
