Intelvix has developed artificial intelligence (AI) that can act as a substitute for the human eye. While humans have only two eyes, AI can have tens of thousands. It can monitor for dangerous situations 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, without ever blinking. Intelvix has combined its accumulated computer vision AI technology and approximately 500 million data points with generative AI to develop a visual language model (VLM) engine.

The next-generation integrated monitoring platform built in this way, 'Gen AMS (Generative AI Monitoring System),' is being supplied to companies and institutions. It detects and analyzes real-time video, sends alerts to users, or provides detailed text descriptions of scenes. It is used at various incident and accident sites, such as fires, traffic accidents, and industrial disasters, to protect the safety and lives of citizens.

On July 6, Eunsu Choi, CEO of Intelvix, emphasized in an interview with Asia Economy, "Gen AMS is the first integrated monitoring platform in Korea where AI automatically performs the entire process of detection, alert, and summarization," adding, "We have shifted the paradigm from human visual monitoring to AI-based monitoring." Gen AMS is scheduled to be implemented in over 20 local governments, including Hwaseong, Goyang, Ansan, and Bucheon, starting with Hwaseong. In particular, in Hwaseong, a total of 12,668 CCTVs installed in the city have been integrated and connected through Gen AMS, which detects and responds to major risk factors in real time. Through this, the company is realizing its vision of "creating the safest society with AI."

Choi explained that the existing monitoring systems sometimes mistakenly identify sunset scenes as fire sites, or fail to collect data when visibility is poor due to fog, but these shortcomings have been addressed. Robots equipped with AI eyes are also under development. Choi stated, "Following the AI monitoring agent, we are expanding our business model to physical AI," and added, "We are developing prototypes of four-legged robots equipped with AI solutions for apartment patrols, neighborhood security, and military reconnaissance."

However, Choi expressed some concern that government AI policies may become centered around large corporations such as Naver. He said, "Ninety-nine percent of all companies in Korea are small and medium-sized enterprises, but there seems to be a lack of investment to strengthen their AI competitiveness," and added, "There needs to be careful consideration of how SMEs can enhance their AI capabilities and adopt AI technologies in their operations to improve productivity." Choi currently serves as the inaugural chairman of the Seoul Jungnambu AI Business Cooperative, which was launched in February last year. He provides AI education programs and joint technology development consulting to SMEs, and plays a role in expanding the use of AI across the industry by strengthening cooperation among member companies.

Meanwhile, Choi, who also served as a judge for the CES Innovation Awards this year, recently cited the following as AI technology trends: generative AI based on multimodal data including video, audio, and text; an increase in AI products aimed at solving social issues such as safety, energy, and the environment; and edge AI technology that processes AI computations on devices rather than in the cloud.
