Shim Woojung Takes Office as Jangseong Deputy Governor... "Leading Civil Complaint Resolution and Communication with Central Government"

On July 3, Jangseong County in Jeonnam welcomed Shim Woojung, former Director of Tourism at Jeonnam Provincial Government, as its 32nd Deputy Governor.

Deputy Governor Shim, a native of Gokseong, began his public service career in Gokseong County in 1993. In 2000, he transferred to the Jeonnam Provincial Government, where he held key positions in the General Affairs Division, Human Resources Management Division, and Regional Planning Division, as well as serving as Head of the Job Policy Team, Director of Safety Policy, and Director of Tourism.

Notably, from 2017 to 2020, he served as Director of Transportation Policy and as Seosam-myeon Chief in Jangseong County. This appointment marks his second professional connection with Jangseong, drawing particular attention.

Deputy Governor Shim stated, "Civil servants need to be happy and have peace of mind in order to serve the residents," adding, "I will actively work to resolve civil complaints and communicate with both the provincial government and the central government." He continued, "Rather than being a brilliant or impressive person, I will strive to be warm and approachable," expressing his determination to do his best for the growth of Jangseong.
