The Chungnam Provincial Office of Education announced on July 3 that it is conducting a variety of training sessions for parents and teachers to provide integrated support for students with disabilities, covering everything from career planning and college admission to employment.

From July 2 for two days, the Office held training sessions at the Smart Hall of the Asan Youth Education and Culture Center for parents and teachers of students with disabilities in the province, focusing on career planning and employment support for students with disabilities.

During the training, a special lecture titled "2025 Special Education Students: Career, Admission, and Planning" was offered. Park Dae-Soo, CEO of the social enterprise Dream&Company, served as the lecturer and introduced approaches for systematically planning the careers of children with disabilities, the role of parents, and practical methods for linking college admission and employment, sharing a variety of case studies. He emphasized the importance of realistic and continuous career planning based on students' strengths, which resonated with the parents in attendance.

This was followed by the "2025 Special Education Students College Admission Information Session," where admissions officers from six universities that accept students with developmental disabilities?Kangdong University, Konyang University, Daejeon Health Institute of Technology, U1 University, Hankyong National University, and Ansan University?participated. They provided information not only on each university's admissions process, but also on support systems for campus life and career connections after graduation.

After the college admission session, group counseling sessions by university and institution were held, giving parents and teachers the opportunity to directly ask questions and receive tailored information relevant to their children's situations, helping to resolve their concerns.

Earlier, on June 19, a "2025 Special Education Students Employment Support Education Community Training" session was held at Chungnam Gonggam Maru. The program included a variety of components such as on-site training, provision of employment information, strengthening the role of parents, and building networks with related organizations, which was well received by parents.

Jung Eunyoung, Director of the Elementary Special Education Division at the Provincial Office of Education, stated, "Career planning, college admission, and employment for students with disabilities are crucial factors that determine the quality of their lives," and added, "I hope that through these training sessions, the educational community?comprising parents, teachers, and the local community?has become even stronger in its collaboration." She also said, "The Chungnam Provincial Office of Education will continue to promote programs linking career, vocational, and college admission pathways to enhance the potential of students with disabilities."
