On July 3, the Chungnam Provincial Council announced that it had held a Seonbi culture experience workshop for council officials at the Korea Confucian Culture Promotion Center and Seowon located in Nonsan City over two days, starting from July 1.

According to the council, the Seonbi culture experience workshop was organized with the aim of enhancing the sense of integrity among public officials, strengthening their commitment to ethical conduct, and fostering a culture of mutual respect among staff members.

During the workshop, participants visited the Korea Confucian Culture Promotion Center to view an integrated exhibition on Seonbi culture, which included artifacts, videos, and installation artworks. They also took part in hands-on activities such as creating pen names, writing, and participating in a traditional tea ceremony to learn about Seonbi culture through direct experience.

In addition, the officials toured Nogang Seowon, Myeongjae Old House, and Donam Seowon, which preserve the lifestyle of Joseon-era scholars. Through these visits, they had the opportunity to reflect on the Seonbi spirit, which forms the foundation of integrity in public service, and the workshop received a positive response from the participants.

A council official stated, "Seonbi culture goes beyond being a traditional cultural heritage; it embodies the values of integrity, justice, and respect that we should pursue today. We expect that this workshop will serve as an opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to integrity and to strengthen a culture of harmony and consideration among staff members."

Meanwhile, Chungnam Provincial Council plans to continue expanding a culture of integrity in practice through tailored integrity initiatives, such as the 'Integrity Practice IDEA Communication Meeting' with 'MZ generation public officials' in the future.
