The National Gwangju Science Museum is operating the "Water Science Experience Center" for the summer vacation. This space, where visitors can enjoy water activities in the city center, will be open at the museum's outdoor plaza from July 25 to August 17.
Children are enjoying large air bounces and water play facilities at the outdoor water science experience center of Gwangju Science Museum.
According to the museum on July 3, this year's experience center features a newly installed large pool with a depth of 120 cm, as well as a variety of water play programs including water volleyball, air bounces, three types of slides, a water gun play area, and a magnetic fishing pond. Shaded rest areas, such as Mongolian tents, air coolers, and fans, are also provided.
The water quality is checked daily and replaced as needed, and regular inspections by professional agencies are also conducted. For safety management, a total of 13 staff members (16 on weekends), including professionals with lifeguard and nursing qualifications, are stationed on site.
The experience center operates three times a day from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., except on Mondays, and up to 350 people can enter per session. Advance online reservations are available through the museum's website, and a limited number of on-site tickets (50 per session) are also offered. Children below elementary school age must be accompanied by a guardian.
