The golf course is transforming into an electronic dance music (EDM) concert venue.
An exciting festival is set to take place at the Dunes Course of Laviebel Golf & Resort in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province. On July 3, Laviebel Golf & Resort announced that it will host the EDM festival "Dunes Night Dance Ya!" every Sunday from July 20 to August 24. This event allows participants to enjoy an EDM festival on a special stage during a summer night after playing a round of golf. The festival will be held a total of five times. Golfers who wish to attend can apply through the Dunes Course reservation office. Reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. If it rains on the day of the event, the festival will be held in a water bomb format.

The number of participants is limited to 120, which corresponds to 30 golf teams. Tee-off will take place around 1:30 p.m. in a shotgun format. After completing their round, participants can join the EDM party, which will be held for two hours starting at 7:00 p.m. There is a separate fee of 20,000 won for the EDM party. However, the entire EDM party participation fee will be donated to help vulnerable groups in the local community. This unique package, which combines a golf round with the EDM party, was first introduced last year. As a new cultural golf course festival, it was held seven times last year and received a great response. A total of seven singers and over 1,000 golfers participated in the festival, enjoying EDM dancing on midsummer nights.
This year, the lineup for the EDM party is even more impressive. Top Korean EDM DJ R2 will perform, along with Yuna, Margarine, Jello, Green, and Cash. Hip-hop diva Kisum, DJ DOC's Kim Changryeol, Park Goon, and Jung Dongha will also take the stage as guest singers. In particular, the legendary 1990s group R.ef has promised to appear, raising expectations. Song Kyungseo, a former KPGA Tour pro golfer, golf instructor, and golf broadcast commentator who recently debuted as a singer, will also perform under the stage name "Songpro."
The golf round itself has become more interesting. For an additional 20,000 won, participants can play 20 holes instead of the usual 18. Five-seater carts are allowed to enter the fairways, making it much more comfortable to play in the summer heat. This unique round, where you can ride a cart across the blue grass, awaits participants. This year, there will also be designated dress code days: Kisum Pink Day, Kim Changryeol Black Day, Park Goon Green Day, R.ef White Day, and Jung Dongha Blue Day.
R.ef's Sung Daehyun, who is volunteering his talent, said, "Personally, I love golf and find the Laviebel golf course very attractive. I decided to participate especially because this event is being held to promote golf culture and for charity." Lee Jungyun, CEO of Laviebel Golf & Resort, stated, "We designed this event to further heat up the summer at the Dunes Course, a favorite among young golfers, and to develop it into a cultural event for golf courses," adding, "We will make sure this year’s midsummer night festival is exciting, enjoyable, and happy."
