Ulsan City and Related Organizations Unite to Support Small Businesses and Revitalize the Local Economy

Business Agreement on July 3
Campaign to Promote Ulsan Pay Purchases and More

Ulsan City and local businesses are launching a full-scale campaign to promote the use of local gift certificates, such as Ulsan Sarang Gift Certificates and Onnuri Gift Certificates, in order to support small business owners facing economic hardship and to revitalize the stagnant local economy. These certificates will be purchased and used for welfare expenses and other purposes.

At 11 a.m. on July 3, Ulsan City will sign a business agreement for "Supporting Small Businesses and Revitalizing the Local Economy" with the Ulsan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ulsan Regional Small and Medium Business Administration, Busan Ulsan Regional Headquarters of the Small Enterprise and Market Service, and the Ulsan Federation of Small Business Owners, in the main conference room on the second floor of Ulsan City Hall.

This agreement will also include the Ulsan Small and Medium Business Association, Ulsan Small and Medium Business Convergence Association, and, representing various small business owners, the Ulsan Branch of the Korea Foodservice Industry Association, Ulsan Branch of the Korea Rest Area Foodservice Association, Ulsan Council of the Korea Beauty Association, and Ulsan Branch of the Korea Skin Beauty Association.

The participating organizations have agreed to jointly promote the campaign to increase the purchase of local gift certificates. They plan to encourage companies to provide welfare-related expenses to employees in the form of Ulsan Pay or Onnuri Gift Certificates.

The Ulsan Chamber of Commerce and Industry will encourage participation among its member companies, while the Ulsan Regional Small and Medium Business Administration and the Small Enterprise and Market Service will be responsible for issuing Onnuri Gift Certificates.

Ulsan City will provide administrative and financial support, including issuing Ulsan Pay at a 5?7% discount, to companies that purchase Ulsan Pay.

In addition, to further increase corporate participation, Ulsan City will temporarily operate the "Ulsan Pay Additional Corporate and Organization Recharge Support Event" until the end of December.

Companies and organizations that submit a letter of intent to purchase to the Ulsan Chamber of Commerce and Industry will receive an additional 5% recharge. For purchases of 100 million won or more made in July or August (limited to one occasion), an additional recharge of up to 7% will be provided.

In particular, although policy-issued purchases by corporate organizations are typically not eligible for reward points, Ulsan City has decided to provide additional recharge benefits in line with the campaign's goal of supporting local small businesses and revitalizing the local economy.

Mayor Kim Doo-gyeom stated, "I would like to thank the local businesses and organizations for coming together to help overcome the difficulties faced by small business owners," and added, "Ulsan City will do its utmost to ensure this becomes a model of cooperation to boost local consumption."
