The 5 billion won "Cultural Center Construction Fund" donated by Bang Sihyuk, Chairman of HYBE, to his alma mater Seoul National University, will be used for the reconstruction of a new cultural center.

On July 3 at 6:00 p.m., Seoul National University announced that it would hold a "Cultural Center Demolition Ceremony and Groundbreaking Event" in front of the main auditorium of the Cultural Center located in Gwanak-gu, Seoul. The event will be attended by professors and students of Seoul National University, donors to the Cultural Center Construction Fund and their families. Chairman Bang will not attend as he is currently overseas on business.

The Cultural Center Construction Fund was established to transform the university's cultural center into a new multi-purpose cultural space. In January 2023, Chairman Bang donated 5 billion won to this fund.

At the time of his donation, Chairman Bang stated, "I have experienced firsthand that the support and help one receives from society are crucial nutrients for personal growth, which is why I wanted to give back, even in a small way, to my alma mater. I hope that this virtuous cycle of giving?where juniors grow, contribute, and give back to society?continues. I also hope they pursue dreams based on common sense, not on goals and dreams set by others, and contribute to society by following those dreams."

Chairman Bang has engaged in various philanthropic activities over the years. Since 2020, the total amount he has donated has exceeded 10 billion won.

HYBE stated, "Chairman Bang Sihyuk has always considered and put into practice ways to contribute to the development of the community both as a business leader and as a member of society. We hope that the new cultural center will become a cradle for nurturing talent, helping Korea take a leap forward as a cultural powerhouse."
