Strategic Model Designed to Reflect Local Needs
Participation in Europe's Largest Landscaping Exhibition, 'DemoPark'
On July 3, Daedong, a future-oriented agricultural company, announced that it has officially launched the premium mid- to large-sized tractor 'HX1403' in the local market, targeting the European premium tractor segment and embarking on a full-scale market expansion.
From July 2022 to March last year, Daedong established a full lineup of mid- to large-sized tractors with 90 to 140 horsepower in the European market. To enhance price competitiveness, the company first introduced standard models to raise awareness of the 'KIOTI' brand, analyzed market responses, and explored the possibility of entering the premium segment. Daedong confirmed that in the European market, there is strong demand for premium products that go beyond basic mechanical performance to include efficiency, driving convenience, and ride comfort. The 'HX1403' was designed to meet these demands as a strategic model for Europe, marking Daedong's first launch of a premium-grade tractor in the European market.
The 'HX1403' is equipped with a variety of features befitting a premium model. Daedong focused on improving work performance, driving convenience, and comfort, in line with the characteristics of European agricultural work, which typically involves long hours and the use of heavy implements.
To enhance work performance, a closed center hydraulic system was applied. While the production cost of this system is higher than that of the open center system, where hydraulic oil circulates continuously, it offers higher energy efficiency because oil only flows when the valve is operated, and it allows multiple implements to be controlled simultaneously. For improved driving convenience, the tractor features a 'Comfort Clutch' that enables smooth starts at a constant speed regardless of clutch pedal pressure, preventing sudden acceleration; an 'Easy Stop' function that allows the tractor to come to a complete stop using only the brake without clutch operation; and an 'Auto Power Shift' that enables rapid gear changes under load without using the clutch. In addition, the 'Cabin Suspension' effectively absorbs road shocks and noise, while the standard 'Air Suspension' and ventilated seat features provide a comfortable ride even during long working hours.
Yoon Chihwan, head of Daedong Europe, stated, "In the European market, demand for premium products with advanced technology and brand reliability is becoming increasingly clear, and the 'HX1403' is the result of proactively responding to these market changes. We will strengthen our portfolio centered on mid- to large-sized products to solidify our position in the European agricultural machinery market and further enhance the value of the 'KIOTI' brand."
Meanwhile, to expand its contact points with European customers, Daedong participated in 'DemoPark,' Europe's largest landscaping industry exhibition, held in Eisenach, Germany from June 22 to 24. The company showcased a wide range of tractors, from compact to mid- and large-sized models, including the newly unveiled 140-horsepower 'HX1403', the 20-horsepower CS series, and the 70-horsepower RX series.
