Shinhan Investment Corp. Launches Short-Term Bond 'Shinhan Best Credit Plus Fund'

Shinhan Investment Corp. announced on July 3 that it has begun offering the 'Shinhan Best Credit Plus Fund,' which invests in domestic short-term credit bonds.

This fund, managed by Shinhan Asset Management, is a short-term bond fund that has been completely revamped from the previous 'Shinhan Relative Value Mid-Term Fund' strategy. It is designed to invest only in bonds with a minimum credit rating of A- or higher, and to maintain an average duration of around 1 year and 6 months. This approach aims to enhance both operational efficiency and stability.

Shinhan Investment Corp. explained that this fund is characterized by its flexible management, which allows investors to expect not only interest income but also capital gains in the event of falling interest rates. It is evaluated as an alternative that can be used as an asset allocation tool not only for conservative investors who prefer stable returns, but also for investors focused on risk assets.

Additionally, while the existing 'Shinhan Best Credit Plus Fund' was previously available only through retirement pension accounts, it is now open to retail investors through Shinhan Investment Corp., thereby expanding its accessibility to a broader investor base.

Lee Kwangryul, Head of Investment Product Department at Shinhan Investment Corp., stated, "Although the Bank of Korea is proceeding with interest rate cuts, uncertainties still remain in terms of inflation and financial stability. In this phase of heightened volatility, short-term bond funds can emerge as relatively attractive investment destinations."

The fund is available for subscription at Shinhan Investment Corp. branches nationwide and through the Shinhan SOL Securities application. It can also be subscribed to via pension savings and retirement pension accounts.
