"Inje County is a Year-Round Healing Destination for Experiencing Nature, Cuisine, and Culture"
On July 3, Inje County in Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Governor Choi Sanggi) announced that Inje County and the Inje County Marketing Center have selected the "Top 10 Trekking Destinations of Haneulnaerin Inje" to promote local tourism and establish the county as a renowned destination for walking trails.
The Marketing Center officially selected the top 10 destinations at the "2025 Haneulnaerin Inje Top 10 Trekking Destinations Selection Committee" meeting, which was held in the Inje County Marketing Center conference room on June 27.
The ten trekking destinations were chosen to promote tourism by discovering walking courses that are enjoyable year-round, based on Inje's pristine nature, environment, and ecological and cultural resources. The selected courses are: Soyanggang Dullegil (Course 1), Naerincheon Barrier-Free Sharing Trail, Jajaknamu Forest Trail, Guksangnamu Forest Trail to Bakdalgochi Forest Trail, Baekdamsa Dullegil, Sibiseonnyeotang Valley Forest Trail, Hangyesanseong Exploration Trail, Gombaeryeong, Achimgari Valley Forest Trail, and Gaenyeonyaksu Trail, for a total of ten courses.
The Marketing Center stated that the evaluation was conducted by a panel of experts in tourism, spatial planning, and walking trails. The results were determined by comprehensively considering factors such as scenery, difficulty, seasonal characteristics, and accessibility, with a focus on the experience of walkers.
In particular, Gombaeryeong is known as a "heavenly garden," where wildflowers bloom in clusters on a high-altitude wetland at 1,100 meters above sea level, making it a renowned destination for ecological exploration. Sibiseonnyeotang Valley, designated as Scenic Site No. 9, offers a spectacular view with its deep forests, unique rock formations, and jade-colored pools. Additionally, walking trails that encompass Naerincheon, Soyangho, and Baekdamsa?Inje County's representative tourist attractions?have also been designated, raising expectations among walking travelers.
Inje County and the Inje County Marketing Center plan to foster tourism content linked to local resources, going beyond simple walking courses. In particular, they intend to establish a tourism information system and improve walking paths to meet the growing demand for walking tourism.
An official from Inje County stated, "The Top 10 Trekking Destinations of Haneulnaerin Inje are representative courses where visitors can experience Inje's nature, ecology, and culture at a glance," adding, "To revitalize the local economy, we will build a year-round tourism model that connects accommodations, food and beverage, and experiential content."
Meanwhile, Inje County plans to focus not only on the selection of trekking destinations, but also on ongoing maintenance, safety measures for visitors, and tourism promotion through local resident participation. Through these efforts, the county aims to transform Inje from a simple destination into a travel spot where visitors can heal, experience, and stay.
