Temporary Opening of Jasungdae Pier Increases Flexibility in Vessel Operations
Shipping Companies Express Appreciation
Busan Port Authority (BPA) invited representatives from domestic shipping companies (on June 26) and foreign shipping companies (on July 1) to hold the "2025 Busan Port Shipping Company Representatives Meeting."
Amid ongoing uncertainties in the global shipping market, BPA discussed ways to strengthen the competitiveness of Busan Port and improve operational efficiency, while also listening to the suggestions of the shipping companies.
During the meeting, a variety of topics were discussed, including the active expansion of AMP (Alternative Maritime Power) facilities and eco-friendly infrastructure, the reinforcement of safety-centered port policies, and the introduction of digital platforms and enhancement of automation levels.
In addition, regarding BPA's temporary opening of certain berths at Jasungdae Pier?which had been restricted for use due to the planned redevelopment of the North Port area?many shipping companies expressed their appreciation, stating that it has increased flexibility in vessel operations and enabled immediate response to emergency maintenance.
BPA President Song Sangkeun emphasized, "The enhancement of port competitiveness stems from awareness of issues and improvement ideas that arise on site," and added, "We will continue to do our best to ensure that Busan Port becomes an even more efficient and reliable service port through open communication with shipping companies."
