15 Artists Including Painters, Actors, and Film Directors Join
Art Classes for Children in Tanzania
The public interest foundation IFChildren announced on July 2 that it held a departure ceremony for the fourth International Art Sharing Project, "K-Emotion ArtDream Tanzania," and will conduct an experiential art education program for about 400 local children in the Pemba region of Tanzania over a two-week period starting from July 7.
This project will feature 15 artists, including contemporary artists, actors, and film directors, who will lead classes in painting, sculpture installation, music, and film-related arts.
First, Korean contemporary artists such as Kim Nampyo, Artnom, Park Seongsu, and Yeon Nuri will present creative art experience classes based on visual arts, including painting, sculpture, and embroidery.
Acting and singing classes to help children freely express their emotions will be led by actor Yoo Junsang, an IFChildren ambassador.
Kang Ikjoong, an artist active on the global stage, will use images from his "Hangeul Arirang" work to conduct integrated classes that include drawing, learning Hangeul, and experiencing Korean songs.
Film director Min Byunghun will host film screenings and guide creative activities to inspire dreams and hope among the local children.
Kim Yunseop, chairman of IFChildren, stated, "The potential value and role of artistic experience are limitless. Beyond simply providing emotional stability and comfort, it will serve as a decisive and positive stimulus for children and adolescents to restore their self-esteem. Based on last year's experience of conducting preliminary art classes at the Chake Chake CDP Center, this time we plan to offer a full-fledged range of diverse art experience classes embodying Korea's 'K-Emotion.'"
