On this day, Mayor Donggeun Kim toured the pathways connecting Songsansaji Neighborhood Park, the flower clusters, and various parts of the vegetable garden, comprehensively checking the management of convenience facilities such as rest areas and restrooms. He also spent time communicating with children from local daycare centers by participating in a harvest experience together.
The Minrak Healing Vegetable Garden is an urban garden located at 879 Minrak-dong, near Songsansaji. It is the first case in Uijeongbu City where an urban vegetable garden and a traditional garden have been combined.
This site features clusters of cornflowers and poppies, a three-color themed garden composed of lavender, hydrangea, and trumpet creeper, as well as framed vegetable gardens.
In the framed vegetable garden area, 30 framed plots are cultivated with more than 20 types of crops, including lettuce, crown daisy, cucumber, tomato, chicory, chili pepper, cabbage, watermelon, Korean melon, and pumpkin. Visitors can observe the growth process of the crops or participate in harvesting them firsthand. In particular, group visits from local daycare centers have continued, receiving a great response from citizens.
Mayor Donggeun Kim stated, "I hope citizens can have special experiences such as harvesting crops in this vegetable garden, which utilizes unused urban spaces." He added, "We will continue to manage the site so that it can be a comfortable and enjoyable resting place for both citizens and curious children."
