Uzbekistan: Achievements in Shipbuilding Workforce Training and Enhanced Energy Cooperation
T?rkiye: Establishing Foundations for Sister City Exchange and Corporate Expansion
Ulsan City will dispatch a cultural and economic delegation to promote the inscription of the Bangudae Petroglyphs as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The city announced that the cultural and economic delegation, led by Mayor Kim Doo-gyeom of Ulsan, will visit three countries?Uzbekistan, T?rkiye, and France?for 12 days and 10 nights from July 3 to July 14.
Prior to attending the UNESCO World Heritage Committee meeting, which will be held in France on July 12, the delegation will visit Tashkent, Uzbekistan from July 3 to July 7.
In Uzbekistan, the delegation will hold a Korea-Uzbekistan Economic Cooperation Forum with the Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan and representatives from energy companies of both countries, and will sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for cooperation in the K-Energy industry. They also plan to discuss sustainable industrial cooperation measures.
In Fergana, the delegation will attend a graduation ceremony for a technical workforce training program, which has been operated as part of an overseas skilled workforce development project to address labor shortages in the shipbuilding industry. The city plans to directly assess the outcomes of the overseas workforce development project during this visit.
On July 8 and 9, the delegation will visit Kocaeli, T?rkiye, hold an official meeting with Mayor Tahir Buyukakin, and discuss ways to promote exchange and cooperation between the two cities.
They will also attend the "T?rkiye Market Entry Strategy Seminar" held at the Ramada Plaza Hotel, aiming to help Ulsan-based companies establish a foundation for overseas expansion and to foster local industrial cooperation.
Finally, from July 10 to 14, the delegation will visit Paris, France, attend the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, and conduct final diplomatic efforts for the inscription of the Bangudae Petroglyphs.
Additionally, they will inspect world-class cultural facilities such as the Opera Bastille and the Vaires-sur-Marne Nautical Stadium, the canoe venue for the Paris 2024 Olympics, seeking direction for Ulsan's ongoing large-scale cultural and sports infrastructure projects.
Mayor Kim Doo-gyeom stated, "We will do our utmost to secure UNESCO World Heritage status for the Bangudae Petroglyphs," and added, "I hope this visit will be seen as a comprehensive diplomatic effort to enhance Ulsan's international competitiveness not only in cultural diplomacy, but also in industry, talent, and infrastructure."
