LG Electronics Hosts 'North America Tech Conference' in the US within Two Weeks

LG Electronics has made consecutive trips to the United States in order to secure global artificial intelligence (AI) talent that will lead future technology research and development (R&D). The company's Chief Technology Officer personally introduced LG Electronics' technology roadmap and future vision to high-profile professionals currently working at major global tech companies.
On July 2, LG Electronics announced that it held the 'North America Tech Conference' in New Jersey, USA, on June 28 (local time). This visit by key executives to secure talent comes just two weeks after their participation in the 'International Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR) 2025' held in Tennessee on June 13.

The North America Tech Conference is an event where LG Electronics invites overseas AI experts to present the company's R&D vision and technological leadership. Following last year's focus on recruiting IT talent mainly in Silicon Valley, this year the company targeted a broader range of professionals, including AI specialists with strong backgrounds in mathematics, engineering, and science?the foundational disciplines of AI research?as well as talent in robotics, data, communications, and automotive electronics.
The event was held under the theme 'AI for the Future: Powered by LGE.' More than 60 participants attended, including high-profile AI professionals from global big tech companies such as Meta, IBM, Amazon, and Microsoft, as well as PhD researchers from leading North American universities.
Kim Byounghoon, Chief Technology Officer (CTO and Executive Vice President) of LG Electronics, delivered the keynote speech on the topic of 'R&D Prepared by LG Electronics.' Other executives under the CTO division were also present, including Kim Wonbum, Chief Human Resources Officer (CHO and Executive Vice President); Kim Youngjun, Head of the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute; Baek Seungmin, Head of the Advanced Robotics Research Institute; and Park Inseong, Head of the Software Center.
CTO Kim emphasized, "LG Electronics is focused on challenges and innovation for a better life for all," and added, "We have established technological leadership with innovative solutions that can lead the market not only in major industries such as home appliances, TVs, automotive electronics, and AI data center cooling solutions for B2C customers, but also in B2B sectors." He went on to introduce examples of AI applications across all business areas, such as agentic AI solutions that understand and infer customer situations, and household humanoids designed to liberate people from housework.

LG Electronics is actively seeking to discover talent in future technology fields such as AI, big data, and software. Key executives are visiting sites in person to communicate the company's technological strengths, vision, and strategic direction. This year's event also featured special lectures by world-renowned experts, including Yann LeCun, a professor at New York University known as one of the 'Four AI Pioneers,' and Luis Sentis, a leading scholar in the field of humanoids from the University of Texas at Austin.
