Upgraded with Deep, Rich Flavor and Chewy Noodles
Enhanced Taste, Texture, and Packaging to Strengthen Presence in the Instant Black Bean Noodle Market
Ottogi announced on July 2 that it will launch a renewed version of its Jjashullang instant noodles, featuring improved taste and texture. Since its initial release in April 2022, Jjashullang has surpassed cumulative sales of 100 million units in just three years. To mark its third anniversary this year, the product has been revamped with enhancements to its flavor, texture, and packaging.
Ottogi has maintained the rich flavor of the original black bean sauce, which consumers desire, while further enhancing its savory taste. This strengthens the core value of Jjashullang: a deep and robust black bean sauce flavor. In addition, the noodles have been made even chewier and more elastic, raising the standard for instant black bean noodles.
The packaging design has also been refined for greater visual appeal. The images of the prepared dish and the logo outline have been organized for clarity, and the text at the top of the package has been changed from "A New Standard for Black Bean Noodles" to "Deep and Rich Black Bean Sauce Flavor," highlighting the company's confidence in the product's taste.
Meanwhile, Jjashullang is recognized for setting a new standard in instant black bean noodles, featuring a black bean sauce powder made with high-temperature roasting, as well as onion oil and green onion oil to complete its rich flavor. This year, the company selected TV personality Choo Sung-hoon as its advertising model and launched a new TV commercial.
An Ottogi representative stated, "This renewal goes beyond simply improving the taste; it aims to strengthen the presence of Jjashullang as the benchmark for instant black bean noodles. We will continue to do our best to ensure that Jjashullang leads the market for black bean instant noodles."
