The Gyeonggi-style emergency childcare system, "Child Anytime Care Service," which allows parents to always trust and rely on care for their children, has provided care services to approximately 37,000 children in its first year of implementation.
The Gyeonggi Child Anytime Care Service is designed for children aged 12 and under and connects families to care services during gaps such as parents' working hours, night or weekend shifts, sudden hospital visits, or absence of family caregivers. This Gyeonggi-style emergency care system enables children to be cared for on weekday nights, weekends, and public holidays.
Since the service was first launched in July last year, connections to the Anytime Care Service have been made through a hotline call center (010-9979-7722) and an online platform. As of May this year, the service has supported 1,352 children through elementary school facility-based emergency care, 6,857 children through Anytime Childcare Centers, and 28,596 children through home-visit emergency care. User satisfaction was also very high, with an average score of 92.2 points.
Currently, elementary school facility-based care is operated in 17 cities and counties including Suwon, Hwaseong, and Namyangju; Anytime Childcare Centers are available in 10 cities and counties including Bucheon, Namyangju, and Gimpo; and home-visit emergency care is provided in 10 cities and counties including Suwon, Hwaseong, and Namyangju.
Yoon Youngmi, Director of the Gyeonggi Provincial Government's Women and Family Bureau, stated, "Gyeonggi Province has been building a care system that parents can trust and rely on anytime and anywhere to create a child-friendly environment. The Child Anytime Care Service is a system that can respond immediately when care is needed, and it is an important policy that goes beyond simple care to support children's healthy growth and parents' stable daily lives."
Meanwhile, on July 2, Gyeonggi Province will hold the "Gyeonggi Child Anytime Care Service 1st Anniversary Performance Sharing Event" at the Gyeonggi Women and Family Foundation, with the attendance of about 70 participants including members of the Gyeonggi Provincial Council, city and county officials, Anytime Care institution staff, and related organizations.
This event aims to share the main achievements and best practices of the Gyeonggi Child Anytime Care Service over the past year and to provide a forum for discussion on building a more comprehensive and stable care system in the future.
Following a video presentation featuring service users and a report on achievements, the event will include a keynote lecture by Professor Min Soyoung of Kyonggi University, presentations on case studies of elementary school facility-based, Anytime Childcare Center, and home-visit services, as well as a comprehensive discussion session.
