Sacheon City Holds 3rd Anniversary Event for Launch of 8th Mayoral Term

"Completing a Happy Sacheon City
Through the Construction of a Space-Aerospace Complex City"

Sacheon City, South Gyeongsang Province, held a commemorative event in the city hall's main auditorium to mark the third anniversary of the launch of the 8th mayoral term, announcing on July 2 that it will "complete a happy Sacheon for all citizens by developing a space-aerospace complex city."

In his commemorative address, Mayor Park Dongsik stated, "With the opening of the Korea Aerospace Administration, the entire city of Sacheon, which is at the center of the nation's space and aerospace industry, is being reorganized around the concept of a space-aerospace complex city." He emphasized, "The coming year will be a period for reaping the fruits of the 8th mayoral term, and we will solidify the foundation of a future city where industry, residential life, and culture are harmoniously integrated."

Over the past three years, Sacheon City has achieved a series of major national projects and long-awaited local initiatives, including: attracting the Korea Aerospace Administration, opening the Changwon National University Sacheon Aerospace Campus, issuing the Sacheon Sarang local gift certificate, promoting the Namhaean Tourism Hub Project, completing the Sacheonman Marine Tourism Belt, and securing the largest investment attraction in the city's history.

In particular, the establishment of the Korea Aerospace Administration in Sacheon is regarded as a paradigm shift in the industrial landscape of Korea. Follow-up projects are now in full swing, including the early construction of the new headquarters for the Korea Aerospace Administration through cooperation with South Gyeongsang Province and central government ministries, the development of a space-aerospace complex city, and the expansion of the metropolitan transportation network.

Additionally, Sacheon City is simultaneously promoting themed tourism content projects, such as the Samcheonpo Mujigaetbit Ecological Trail and the creation of the Seonsangji area, in connection with the marine tourism industry, which serves as another axis of growth. Through these efforts, the city is expanding its vision as a complex city where tourism and other industries coexist in harmony.

Mayor Park Dongsik stated, "Over the next year, we will pursue all policies with a 'field-oriented, people-centered' approach so that citizens can share in the achievements of the 8th mayoral term and experience tangible changes."

He added, "We have not simply attracted a government office; we have opened the door to a new era. For the remainder of my term, I will work together with citizens to complete Sacheon as the most competitive and happiest city in Korea."
