Sultap Launches "Career Exploration Major Package" for Teenagers

Sultap, the one-on-one SKY tutoring service, is launching a "Career Exploration Major Package" for teenagers struggling with career decisions. With the introduction of the "high school credit system" this year, which allows students to choose classes based on their aptitudes, the company aims to actively support students and parents who are experiencing confusion.

Sultap developed this package to help teenagers discover their own interests and aptitudes and plan for the future. The package, which will be available throughout July during the summer vacation, consists of a three-step roadmap for teenagers: a major exploration program, major matching, and major mentoring. This is the first program in the private education industry that allows teenagers to directly explore majors they are interested in, set their goals, and be matched with one-on-one tutors.

The major exploration program enables students to discover their desired majors through one-on-one indirect experiences with mentors. To engage students, the program is structured around a ghost story-themed storytelling approach, and all registered Sultap members can participate. Students who find their desired major through this program can be matched with a professional tutor through the "major matching" program, which is available only to the first 1,000 participants. These tutors provide mentoring on the chosen major and help students set their goals.

Sultap's Career Exploration Major Package is expected to provide a roadmap for students and parents who are struggling with the high school credit system introduced this year. According to the Korean Federation of Teachers' Associations, 84.8% of teachers who responded to a survey said they were taking "formal measures to address non-completion" under the high school credit system, indicating that it is difficult to prepare for the system through public education alone. The prevailing opinion is that physical limitations make it difficult to establish proper educational infrastructure and expertise.

In contrast, this kind of major exploration package is characterized by Sultap's strength in mentoring. Well known for its "iPad SKY tutoring," Sultap features college students who have recently experienced the admissions process and its challenges as tutors. Notably, Sultap has secured a pool of 15,000 tutors, including not only SKY graduates but also those from KAIST, POSTECH, medical schools, and veterinary schools, to reflect the diverse career paths of current students. These tutors go beyond simply delivering knowledge; they also provide mental care and share admissions know-how, offering emotional support as well.

Sultap is establishing itself as a future education edtech company by leading a "mentor for youth" culture through various social and cultural activities. In the second half of last year, Sultap hosted a motivational talk concert as part of the "Sultap Potential Club" for teenagers, where influencers from various fields participated as mentors to help students with their career planning. The company also doubled the size of the "Sultap Scholarship Campaign," which supports students facing regional and economic challenges.

In addition, Sultap uses data to match students with the best teachers from prestigious universities according to their individual tendencies, and provides proprietary content tailored to each student's academic achievement, delivering personalized education.

Ko Yejin, CEO of Sultap, said, "I am delighted that we can create various opportunities for teenagers to actively interact with mentors and discover their dreams and potential," adding, "Going forward, Sultap will become an educational platform that provides even greater value, not just a simple tutoring platform, so that teenagers can grow into healthy adults."
