Eligible papers must be based primarily on research conducted in Korea and must have been published in a professional academic journal within the past five years as of the application deadline (within the past three years for the Young Researcher Award). The Young Researcher Award is open only to researchers under the age of 45 (born on or after January 1, 1981).

Nominations may be submitted by the heads of domestic and international professional societies, associations, research institutes, and universities related to the award’s fields, or by individuals with recognized expertise in the relevant area.

Applicants must submit one recommendation letter, a curriculum vitae and record of achievements, one representative paper, and up to five related papers to the Lim Sungki Foundation Secretariat via email. However, papers that have received or are currently being considered for awards of similar scale on the same topic, either domestically or internationally, are not eligible.

The award recipients will be officially announced at the end of the year following review by the Lim Sungki Researcher Award Selection Committee and approval by the Foundation's Board of Directors. The award ceremony will be held in March next year, with the exact date and location to be announced later. Detailed information about the call for nominations is available on the Lim Sungki Foundation website.

Kim Changsoo, Chairman of the Lim Sungki Foundation, stated, "This is a meaningful award that honors the noble spirit of Chairman Lim Sungki, who dedicated his life to R&D with the goal of developing globally innovative new drugs and who continuously took on new challenges." He added, "The Lim Sungki Foundation will be a strong supporter for researchers so that they can focus solely on innovation without discouragement in the fields of biotechnology and medical science, which require enormous funding and time."
