Opening on July 19: 27 Film and Animation Music Performances
August 4: "Open House" Free Admission to Concert Hall
Lotte Concert Hall will present two performances it has planned in-house: "The Lord of the Rings & Game of Thrones Movie Music Live" on July 19, and "Hans Zimmer VS John Williams" on July 23. These two performances aim to expand the value of film music, which has been recognized as "modern classics" beyond simple OSTs, into the concert hall, offering audiences a deeply moving and immersive listening experience.
The master of animation music, Joe Hisaishi, will appear as conductor on the LOF stage. On July 21 and 22, he will lead the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in the Korean premiere of his works, including "How Do You Live? for Piano and Orchestra" and "Harp Concerto."
On August 3 and 10, the "Bling Bling Catch! Tinyping Symphony" will be performed four times over two days, featuring songs from all seasons of SAMG Entertainment's "Catch! Tinyping" series, which has captivated not only children but also adults.
In addition, a variety of film concerts that combine visuals and music will be held, including Kanghee Choi's "Cinema Concert" (July 24), the "Your Name" film concert (July 25), Sungwoo Cho's Film Music Symphony Concert (July 29), Makoto Shinkai Highlights Film Concert (August 1), Tooniverse Concert (August 2), One Piece Music Symphony Concert (August 9), and Final Fantasy Piano Concert (August 13).
On August 4, the concert hall will host an open house, offering free admission to the public. From 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., visitors can freely enter and experience the concert hall. There will be three 30-minute performances where audiences can enjoy orchestral and pipe organ music. Additionally, two stage tours will provide a glimpse into the hidden spaces behind the stage. For those participating in the open house, a special Ma Jooang Moselle wine tasting event will offer white wine, allowing guests to enjoy a unique experience at the concert venue.
Kim Hyungtae, CEO of Lotte Foundation for Arts, stated, "Because the threshold for classical concert halls is high, ordinary audiences often find it unfamiliar and difficult to visit. Through the open house, we hope that people can comfortably experience the concert hall, become more familiar with classical music, and eventually develop into potential classical music customers."
