Planting Trees and Installing Rest Facilities
Ansan City in Gyeonggi Province announced on July 1 that it has begun construction on the "Healing Rest Area Development Project," which aims to create a leisure and rest space for citizens on idle land within the Hwarang Recreation Area.

This project involves renovating an unused plot of land located behind the Ansan Industrial History Museum at 667, Choji-dong, Danwon-gu, to develop it into a space for citizens' leisure activities. Currently, the site cannot be used for recreation area facilities and has temporarily been turned into a flower garden.
The city plans to invest approximately 250 million won from the municipal budget to organize a 4,760-square-meter space. Through the project, the land will be cleared, grass and trees will be planted, and amenities such as shade structures and parasols will be installed. By developing the site, the city also expects to create a tourism synergy effect with the Ansan Industrial History Museum, which opened in 2022.
Lee Min-geun, Mayor of Ansan, stated, "We will continue to promote the redevelopment of idle spaces to help improve the quality of life for citizens in their daily lives."
