Chonnam National University Hospital to Hold "AI in the Medical Field" Symposium on July 4

A Stepping Stone for Becoming a Leading Smart Hospital in Future Medicine

Chonnam National University Hospital announced on July 1 that it will hold the 6th Medical Information Center Symposium on July 4 under the theme "AI Enters the Medical Field."

The symposium, which will take place in the main conference room on the first floor of the Biomedical Research Support Center, is hosted by the Medical Information Center of Chonnam National University Hospital. The event will begin with opening remarks by Center Director Ji Youngseok and a congratulatory address by Hospital Director Jeong Sin. Hwang Hee, CEO of Kakao Healthcare, will deliver the keynote speech on the topic "AI & Data in Digital Healthcare."

The first session, themed "Latest Trends in Medical AI," will be chaired by Gi Seungjeong, Director of the Biomedical Research Institute. Presentations will include: "Utilization and Prospects of LLM in the Medical Domain" by Professor Yuk Hyun of Wonju Severance Christian Hospital; "Korean Regulations on Generative AI Medical Devices: The Basic Act on Artificial Intelligence and Guidelines for Generative AI Medical Devices" by Professor Lee Chungkeun of Bundang Seoul National University Hospital; and "Development Case of a Multimodal AI-Based Draft Generation Solution for Chest X-ray Interpretation Reports" by Hyun Jihoon, Director of Deepnoid.

The second session, focusing on "Cases of Medical AI Application in Hospitals," will be chaired by Professor Kang Hocheol of Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital. Presentations will include: "Yonsei Medical Center Y-KNOT Project: Medical Record Writing Using LLM" by Lee Soyeon, Director of Pi Digital Healthcare; "Field Demand-Centered Cases of Medical Artificial Intelligence/Metaverse" by Professor Na Seungdae of Kyungpook National University Hospital; and "Case of BPA Introduction at Asan Medical Center" by Lee Wongu, Team Leader at Asan Medical Center.

The third session, themed "At Chonnam National University Hospital?" will be chaired by Ju Seongpil, Director of Planning and Coordination. Presentations will include: "Bridge Project: Utilization of the Healthcare Big Data Platform" by Jeong Jipmin, Director of the Korea Health Information Service; "Current Status of Medical AI Development at the Medical Information Center" by Seo Jewon, Team Leader at Chonnam National University Hospital; and "Development of an AI-Based Regional Smart Emergency Patient Triage and Transport System" by Professor Kim Donggi of Chonnam National University Hospital.

Ji Youngseok, the Center Director who organized this symposium, said, "We hope this will serve as a crucial stepping stone for fully leveraging the potential of AI in the medical field and for Chonnam National University Hospital to advance as a leading smart hospital in future medicine."
