Korean Red Cross Completes Maintenance of Emergency Relief Kits in Preparation for Heavy Rains

The Korean Red Cross (President Kim Cheolsoo) announced on July 1 that it has completed maintenance of the "Korean Red Cross Emergency Relief Kits" stockpiled nationwide in preparation for summer flood and storm disasters.

The emergency relief kits are essential daily necessities provided to disaster victims immediately after an incident. They include items such as underwear, toiletries, towels, and slippers, which are necessary to maintain basic hygiene and daily life. This maintenance activity focused on checking the condition of the kit components, replacing damaged packaging, and repackaging items as needed to ensure the completeness of the relief supplies.

The Korean Red Cross produces emergency relief kits every year using Red Cross membership fees and private donations, and conducts ongoing inspections and improvements even during normal times. This year's maintenance activities were also carried out with the participation of private companies such as Samsung, LG, and Emart.

A Korean Red Cross official stated, "Disaster response is only possible when both the public and private sectors prepare together, and this maintenance activity was also carried out as part of that ongoing cooperation."
