MayI to Supply AI Visitor Analytics Solution 'mAsh' to All Coway Stores Nationwide

Expansion of mAsh Deployment to 26 Stores Nationwide

On July 1, video processing artificial intelligence (AI) startup MayI announced that it has signed an expansion contract with Coway for its store analytics AI solution 'mAsh,' and will begin full-scale supply of the solution to all Coway Gallery brand experience and sales stores nationwide.

In 2023, MayI conducted a proof of concept (PoC) at three Coway Gallery locations, demonstrating that insights from mAsh were effective in systematizing store operations and improving performance, and subsequently supplied the solution to nine locations that same year. In 2024, the rollout was expanded to 18 stores, and the current scale has grown to 26 locations. The company plans to continue expanding to newly opened stores in the second half of the year.

MayI supplies Coway with mAsh's 'Counting Plan,' which comprehensively aggregates and analyzes store visitor data, providing information such as visitor numbers, gender, and age group. Based on this data, Coway can evaluate store operational performance and accurately calculate average sales per customer, thereby enhancing the spatial experience. For new stores opening this year, mAsh will be implemented from the outset, and performance data will be managed from the initial stage.

mAsh analyzes offline store video data using MayI's proprietary deep learning algorithms, delivering key performance indicators (KPIs) and various insights that can be used to improve results. This enables store operators to make data-driven decisions, and because facial recognition technology is not used, there are no concerns about privacy violations when collecting and analyzing visitor data.

In particular, mAsh's 'employee filtering' technology can identify store staff with over 90% accuracy, minimizing counting errors. It distinguishes between customers and staff based on factors such as uniform wearing, thereby contributing to improved operational efficiency.

Kim Chankyu, CEO of MayI, stated, "Our collaboration with Coway is a representative example demonstrating the effectiveness of store data analytics," adding, "We will continue to take the lead in precisely analyzing and improving various experiential spaces so that visitors' brand experiences can be translated into actual purchase conversions."
