Tomocube Selected for Public Procurement Service's 'Overseas Demonstration Project for Innovative Products'... Supplies Equipment to U.S. Government Research Institute

Tomocube, a company specializing in holotomography-based imaging, announced on July 1 that its 'HT-X1' has been selected for the '2025 Overseas Demonstration Project for Innovative Products' organized by the Public Procurement Service, and has begun full-scale performance validation at a U.S. government-affiliated research institute.

This project installs outstanding domestic technology-based products at major overseas demand sites, where local research institutions directly operate the equipment for a certain period to verify its performance and potential applications. Tomocube was ultimately selected for meeting both the requirements of proprietary technology in next-generation bioimaging equipment with its HT-X1 and the willingness of global demand institutions to participate.

The HT-X1 installed for this project is a holotomography device based on an LED light source and possesses world-class technological competitiveness in label-free 3D image analysis. In particular, it is recognized as a technology specialized for next-generation cell model research, such as organoids (mini-organs), spheroids, and microphysiological systems (MPS), by providing a correlated microscopy mode that integrates fluorescence microscopy functionality and AI-based analysis software (TomoAnalysis).

The HT-X1 will undergo various validation tests led by the local research team over approximately four months. The test items include 3D imaging performance for various cell models; speed and resolution comparison with conventional confocal microscopes; and evaluation of image reproducibility and fluorescence contrast accuracy. The device will be used in actual research projects to directly assess its performance and data reliability.

Tomocube expects this opportunity to expand its collaboration network with research institutes under U.S. government agencies and to further extend its reach to a wide range of government and global research institutions in the United States. In addition, based on the demonstration results, the company plans to conduct promotional activities through international conference presentations, publication of casebooks and papers, and online channels.

Lee Sumin, Executive Director of Tomocube's Life Science Division, stated, "We expect that this demonstration, in which U.S. government researchers directly use and validate our equipment, will serve as an important milestone for our technology to be adopted as an international standard, going beyond simple export." He added, "We are grateful for the active support from the Public Procurement Service and related organizations in promoting the overseas expansion of outstanding innovative products, and based on the validated data from this project, we will accelerate our efforts to expand into the global market, including North America."
