Starting July 1, Gyeonggi Province will offer free admission to the 'Gyeonggi-do Mulhyanggi Arboretum' located in Osan City.
This implementation of free admission is part of Gyeonggi Province's forest welfare policy, which aims to allow everyone to enjoy nature without financial burden.
Gyeonggi Province expects that making the arboretum free of charge will expand the forest welfare infrastructure, thereby increasing everyday access to nature and providing more opportunities for cultural and natural experiences for vulnerable groups such as the elderly, children, and people with disabilities.
Mulhyanggi Arboretum features a total of 25 themed gardens, including an aquatic plant garden, wetland ecology garden, and moss garden, as well as facilities such as a plant library and a forest exhibition hall. The arboretum is home to more than 2,006 species of plants and ecosystems, offering residents a variety of ecological experiences.
Additionally, to further enhance user convenience, Gyeonggi Province has changed the parking fee system from a flat daily rate to a time-based charging system, effective July 1.
Kim Ilgon, Director of the Gyeonggi-do Forest Environment Research Institute, said, "By making admission to Mulhyanggi Arboretum free, we aim to create a space where all residents can visit the arboretum, connect with nature, and relax in comfort."
