Namyangju City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Kwangdeok) announced on June 30 that the "Leadership Academy," hosted by the Namyangju City Council of the Korean Red Cross Volunteer Society (President Jeon Yusin), has concluded successfully.

This academy, held over four weeks from June 9 to June 30, was organized for 40 Red Cross volunteers with the aim of strengthening their capabilities and enhancing their professionalism.
The academy featured a variety of programs, including the role of volunteer leaders, understanding welfare systems, improving professionalism in volunteer activities and strengthening communication skills within organizations, as well as the prevention of environmental diseases and experiencing forest therapy.
In particular, at the graduation ceremony held in the final week, Joo Kwangdeok, mayor of Namyangju City and honorary branch president, attended to congratulate and encourage the graduates.
Mayor Joo stated, "Today's graduation ceremony is not an end, but a new beginning. I hope you will become central figures in creating a warmer Namyangju in the future. I would like to thank all the volunteers who diligently completed the four-week training program, and Namyangju City will continue to support the spread of a culture of sharing and consideration together with our citizens."
Currently, a total of 563 Red Cross members are active in Namyangju City, carrying out a range of volunteer activities such as disaster relief for community welfare, blood donation campaigns, and providing side dishes for seniors at risk of malnutrition.
Namyangju City also plans to hold a Red Cross disaster relief volunteer workshop in the second half of the year, including practical training necessary for disaster response such as CPR, and will continue to expand educational programs to further strengthen the practical capabilities of its volunteers.
