Now in its fourth year, Community Day is held annually with a different theme to promote communication and exchange among village communities. It has become an opportunity for participants to collectively consider the direction of community activities and to strengthen their sense of solidarity.
The first part of the event featured a team-building program designed to foster natural communication and bonds among the communities.
In the second part, the village community group "Tannenbaum Male Choir" gave a celebratory performance, followed by an open discussion session called "Sokmaeum Talk" where participants shared candid stories.
During a segment titled "Ask Anything Mayor," Mayor Joo Kwangdeok personally served as the moderator, listening to the various concerns of the communities and exchanging opinions, thereby creating a space for empathy and communication. Mayor Joo responded to questions raised by citizens and discussed future policy directions and avenues for cooperation.
Mayor Joo Kwangdeok stated, "A city with a vibrant community is healthy and sustainable in itself, and the autonomy and diversity of communities have a positive impact on all aspects of city administration." He added, "I hope that, through this Community Day, citizens with different ideas and experiences will come together toward a common goal to help create a warm and united Namyangju."
