Kumho Tire (CEO Jung Iltaek) announced on June 30 that students from Neungju High School, located in Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do, recently sent their warm wishes for the swift recovery of the Gwangju plant and the restoration of daily life for affected residents.

Neungju High School is a private high school that aims to nurture future talent under the motto "Study diligently and act rightly." The school actively operates student-centered autonomous educational activities and community-linked programs, and is recognized as a prestigious institution that emphasizes community spirit and character education.

Upon hearing news of the damage, students at Neungju High School felt deep sympathy and voluntarily organized a fundraising campaign. They delivered the collected funds along with heartfelt handwritten letters of consolation to the employees of Kumho Tire.

The donations were provided with the hope that they would contribute, even in a small way, to the compensation for affected residents and help them recover and rebuild their daily lives. This initiative was especially meaningful because it was proposed and carried out voluntarily by the students themselves.

Through their letters, the students conveyed their sincere comfort to the victims, saying, "It may be a small gesture, but we hope you can overcome this together," and "We sincerely hope that recovery efforts proceed quickly and that everyone can return to a safe daily life as soon as possible."

Principal Taemo Sung of Neungju High School stated, "This activity went beyond a simple donation; it was an educational moment in which students empathized with the pain of the community and experienced mature citizenship by acting together. Everyone feels a great sense of fulfillment knowing that the students' warm hearts have truly comforted someone."

Jung Iltaek, CEO of Kumho Tire, said, "While we are facing many difficulties due to an entirely unexpected fire, the warm generosity shown by the students of Neungju High School has provided all Kumho Tire employees with greater comfort and encouragement than any compensation could offer. We will cherish the students' precious support and encouragement, and do our utmost to restore the plant as soon as possible and give back to the local community."

Meanwhile, Kumho Tire is focusing all its efforts on quickly recovering from the damage caused by the recent fire and is committed to rising again together with the local community. The company also plans to continue building trust with residents and to become an even safer and more responsible company moving forward.
