On the 30th, the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education signed a 'School Facility Policy and Technology Cooperation MOU' with the Korea Educational Facilities Safety Institute at the Southern Government Complex in Suwon.
This agreement was established to jointly promote the development of the 'Gyeonggi Future Hybrid New School' model, as well as to implement policy and technical response systems to strengthen fire safety.
The main points of the agreement include: on-site application of hybrid school design technologies; development of joint guidelines and design manuals; establishment of a professional support cooperation system through research groups and forums for technology exchange; implementation of the '3E (Education, Management, Environment)' strategy with the goal of achieving zero fires; and investigation, research, and information sharing on domestic and international cases (fire incidents and exemplary responses).

Going forward, the two organizations will build a cooperative system to ensure safe educational facilities where students, teachers, and parents can feel secure, and will work closely together to open the future of sustainable educational facilities. After the agreement, they will continuously promote follow-up implementation systems, such as forming a working-level consultative body and linking policy research.
Superintendent Taehee Lim stated, "Since Gyeonggi Province accounts for about 30% of the nation, the demand for facilities felt in the field of education is much higher than expected," adding, "Although our staff are working hard, there are many aging facilities as well as newly established ones, so complaints are constantly arising."
He continued, "I hope the Korea Educational Facilities Safety Institute, with its various areas of expertise, will play a significant role in transforming school facilities for Gyeonggi education and education in the local community," and added, "With this agreement as an opportunity, I hope the Korea Educational Facilities Safety Institute will become a valuable guide by concretely discussing its ideas and experiences with the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education."
