The Daegu Happiness Promotion Social Service Agency (Chairman Bae Ki-chul) announced on June 30 that it is expanding the eligibility criteria and recruiting participants for the second round of the Lifelong Education Voucher program.
In the first round of applications held in April, 4,079 low-income individuals and people with disabilities were selected and received educational support of 350,000 won per person. The second round has expanded eligibility to include not only low-income individuals but also seniors aged 65 or older and adults aged 30 or older who wish to receive digital education, regardless of income. In particular, the digital voucher is open to any citizen who wants to enhance their digital skills and can only be used at institutions offering digital-related education.
Applications can be submitted exclusively online through the Lifelong Education Voucher website until July 10. Following the first round, high interest from citizens is expected to continue.
The Lifelong Education Voucher is provided as points on an NH Nonghyup Cheum Card (credit or debit) and can be used until the end of this year. Recipients can use the voucher for lifelong education course fees, textbook costs, and more, enjoying a wide range of learning opportunities such as certificate acquisition, entrepreneurship, language studies, humanities, and AI or digital-related courses. Eligible institutions can be checked on the Lifelong Education Voucher website, and the Daegu Happiness Promotion Agency also provides course information through the Daegu Lifelong Learning Platform.
Bae Ki-chul, Chairman of the Daegu Happiness Promotion Agency, stated, "As we have expanded the types of vouchers to reflect various life stages and the diverse characteristics of citizens, we will strengthen our support so that more citizens can enjoy a richer life through lifelong learning. We will continue to support the happy lives and learning of all Daegu citizens."
