Yes24 Announces 20 Candidates for 2025 Young Writers Selection Yes24

This '2025 Young Writers Who Will Shape the Future of Korean Literature' vote was planned to support K-literature and to introduce Korea's leading young writers.

The candidates were selected from writers who published their first literary work less than 10 years ago, based on recommendations from experts in various fields, including literary editors, planners, and journalists.

This year, there are a total of 20 candidates: Kang Bora, Ko Seonkyung, Kim Kitae, Kim Jiyeon, Kim Hong, Kim Hwajin, Dol Kimin, Park Jiil, Baek Onyu, Seol Jaein, Seong Hyeryeong, Ye Soyeon, Lee Yuri, Lee Heeju, Jang Jinyoung, Jeon Jiyeong, Cho Yeeun, Cha Hyeonjun, Cheong Ye, and Han Yeoji (listed in alphabetical order).

The selection process will be conducted through both online and offline reader voting. For offline voting, 4,651 people participated in person at a special voting zone set up at the Yes24 booth during the Seoul International Book Fair, Korea's largest book festival, which concluded on the 22nd.

Past selected writers include Kim Aeran (2015), Jeong Youjeong (2016), Cho Namjoo (2017), Choi Eunyung/An Heeyeon (2018), Kim Geumhee (2019), Son Wonpyung (2020), Kim Choyeop (2021), Cheon Seonran (2022), Lee Seula (2023), and Seong Haena (2024).

Notably, Seong Haena, who topped the Yes24 overall bestseller list in June with her short story collection 'Honmono' published this year, had already made a name for herself as an icon representing the Korean literary world by winning first place in the 2024 Young Writers selection. In her acceptance speech, Seong expressed her heartfelt gratitude to readers who love literature, saying, "Thank you for giving me the courage to keep writing."

Yes24 will provide YES gift certificates, Crema Club passes, and special merchandise to encourage more readers to participate in the selection of young writers who will shape the future of Korean literature. In addition, through the reading community 'Sarak', various commemorative events have been prepared, including recruiting a review group for the representative works of the candidate writers and awarding YES gift certificates to those who write reviews or reading notes on the candidates' books.

This vote will be held until July 15 on the Yes24 website as well as at voting stations in Yes24 offline stores nationwide.
