"My Mister" to Be Adapted into a Play... Premieres August 22 at LG Arts Center

“My Mister,” which aired on tvN in 2018 and was recognized as a masterpiece drama by winning Best Drama and Best Screenplay in the TV category at the 55th Baeksang Arts Awards, will be adapted into a play and staged this August at LG Arts Center Seoul, U+ Stage.


On June 30, production company T2N Media announced that the play “My Mister” will be performed from August 22 to September 27 at LG Arts Center Seoul, U+ Stage.

The role of Park Donghoon, played by the late Lee Sunkyun in the drama, will be performed by Lee Dongha and Park Eunseok. The role of Lee Jian, originally played by IU, will be taken on by Kim Hyunsoo and Hong Yeji. The cold-hearted businessman Do Joonyoung, who calculates all relationships for the sake of success and power, will be played by Lee Kyuhan and Yoon Sunwoo. The role of Kang Yunhee, Park Donghoon’s wife who has an affair with Do Joonyoung, will be performed by Oh Yeona and Jang Heejin. Other cast members include Heo Youngson, Choi Jungwoo, Moon Yugang, Lee Sunghui, Jin Soyeon, Lee Wonjang, and Byun Jinsu.


The play will be directed by Kim Jaeyeop, a professor at Korea National University of Arts’ School of Drama, who has received numerous awards including the Dong-A Theatre Awards for Best Play and Best Playwright. Director Kim Jaeyeop recently presented “Death of a Salesman” at Sejong Center and “Berliner” at Daehangno Quad.


Tickets for the play “My Mister” will be available for reservation starting at 3 p.m. on July 9 through NOL Ticket and the LG Arts Center Seoul website.


T2N Media also announced plans to present a spin-off play titled “Junghee” in the first half of next year. The play “Junghee” will explore the life of Jung Junghee, a character portrayed by Oh Nara in the drama. The script will be written by writer Hong Danbi, and the play will be directed by Lee Gippeum, who previously directed the musicals “The Secret Garden,” “Eugene and Eugene,” and the play “I, Hyeseok.”
