Building a Win-Win Model Combining Tourism and Agriculture Through Seasonal Landscape Farming
Vibrant Colors Quickly Spread the Word on Social Media as a Must-Visit Photo Spot
The 'Homigot Win-Win Scenic Garden,' newly created by Pohang City in the Homigot area, is rapidly emerging as a new local tourist attraction, receiving enthusiastic responses from both tourists and citizens.
This new garden features a vibrant celosia flower field on the site near Homigot Millennium Square, which was previously used for planting sunflowers. The garden captivates visitors with its diverse colors and unique landscape that can be appreciated at a glance.
In particular, the rich hues of the celosia flowers, including vivid reds and yellows, are quickly spreading by word of mouth on social media and blogs as a must-visit spot for taking memorable photos.
The name 'Win-Win Scenic Garden' reflects the idea of a space where nature and people, as well as urban and rural communities, coexist together.
One citizen who visited the garden said, "I thought Homigot only had vast fields of yellow canola flowers, so I was surprised to find a place with such a variety of colors. Seeing the flowers made me feel healed."
The city is focusing on establishing a sustainable win-win model that links the local commercial district, agriculture, and tourism through the creation of this garden.
The celosia flowers are expected to remain in bloom until October, providing visitors with beautiful scenery for an extended period.
Starting next year, the city plans to introduce seasonal landscape crops to further enrich the garden. Marigolds will be planted in spring, and celosia will be featured in summer and autumn, developing the garden into a healing space where flowers bloom throughout all four seasons.
Mayor Lee Kangdeok stated, "The Homigot Win-Win Scenic Garden is a place where citizens, agriculture, and tourism come alive together. We will continue to create an attractive healing destination unique to Pohang through this distinctive landscape agriculture model."
Homigot is a representative tourist destination in Pohang, attracting many visitors every year who come to enjoy the sunrise and natural scenery.
In particular, the Homigot Scenic Complex is highly popular for offering a variety of seasonal attractions such as canola flowers and colored barley. The creation of this new garden is expected to enhance the synergy with existing attractions and further boost tourism.
