SK Ecoplant announced on the 30th that the cumulative number of participants in its social volunteer programs exceeded 2,900 in the first half of this year. The total accumulated volunteer hours reached 20,000.
According to SK Ecoplant, over 2,900 employees participated in a total of 12 volunteer programs in just the first half of this year. This figure represents more than 85% of all SK Ecoplant employees, and the total participation time reached 20,950 hours.
SK Ecoplant operates the "Epi Volunteer Group" (Eco People Volunteer Group), which includes employees and partner organizations, to spread a culture of coexistence and sharing for marginalized neighbors, local communities, and future generations.
This year, starting with an environmental cleanup activity in March, the company has carried out programs such as: blood donation for life-sharing, housing environment improvement for grandparent-grandchild households in vulnerable groups (Josondoson), volunteer work at the Seondeokwon child welfare facility, mobile safety education, medical volunteer services for underprivileged groups, and the Happy Safety Classroom.
Together with its medical volunteer partner, Open Medical Society, SK Ecoplant visited medically underserved areas such as Icheon in Gyeonggi Province to provide medical volunteer services for the elderly. The company also supported the medical volunteer program "The Healthier Bus" with donations.
SK Ecoplant is also engaged in social volunteering for future generations. The company has maintained a relationship with the Seondeokwon child welfare facility in Jongno-gu, Seoul since 2022, and this year continued volunteer activities, including repairs of aging facilities and environmental improvements. This month, SK Ecoplant organized a mural painting project and, together with the Yongin Fire Station, operated a safety class for all students at an elementary school near the Yongin Semiconductor Cluster to improve the school environment.
President Kim Hyungkeun and other SK Ecoplant executives also actively participated in social volunteer activities. Last month, President Kim joined the Epi Volunteer Group in visiting a grandparent-grandchild household in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province, participating in the Josondoson housing environment improvement program, which included improving the living environment and installing an artificial intelligence (AI) home care safety system in the household.
