Dongkook Pharmaceutical announced on June 30 that its derma-cosmetic brand Centellian24's flagship product, "Madeca Cream," is celebrating its 10th anniversary.
Launched in 2015 alongside the introduction of Centellian24, Madeca Cream is a premium total anti-aging cream developed using Dongkook Pharmaceutical’s unique plant-based ingredients and proprietary dermatological technology, which have been researched and developed over the past 50 years.
Madeca Cream features the brand’s core ingredient, TECA (Titrated Extract of Centella Asiatica), as well as various active ingredients derived from Centella Asiatica, enhancing skin elasticity, soothing, and moisturizing effects. Centella Asiatica, the raw material for TECA, grows in pristine regions such as Madagascar and has long been used as a traditional remedy for skin diseases by local residents of Madagascar.
TECA is a purified active ingredient extracted from Centella Asiatica, with only 2% of the raw material being extracted from every 100 kg of the plant. It is known to help with skin soothing, moisturizing, protection, elasticity care, skin texture improvement, and collagen synthesis. Dongkook Pharmaceutical refines and extracts this ingredient in-house using its proprietary technology and stringent processing systems, resulting in a differentiated raw material.
Currently, there are a total of eight Madeca Cream products available: Madeca Cream, Madeca Cream Centella Hydrating Formula, Madeca Cream Hydra 3X Formula, Madeca Cream Power Boosting Formula, Madeca Cream Active Skin Formula, The Madeca Cream, Madeca Cream Time Reverse, and Madeca Cream Tight Lifting. Each product provides solutions for various consumer skin concerns.
Based on the proven efficacy and effects of TECA, Madeca Cream surpassed cumulative sales of 73 million units as of March 2025. Bolstered by the popularity of Madeca Cream, Centellian24 achieved a cumulative brand sales revenue of 1 trillion won as of December 2024, establishing itself as a leading derma-cosmetic brand in Korea.
Additionally, Madeca Cream has been recognized as a winner at major beauty awards, including "2025 Cosmo Beauty Seoul Rookie of the Year (Madeca Cream Time Reverse)," "2024 Cosmo Beauty Award (Madeca Cream Time Reverse)," and "2024 First Half Glowpick 10th Anniversary Award (The Madeca Cream)," further demonstrating the product’s competitiveness and effectiveness.
