Pocheon City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Younghyeon) announced on June 30 that it has officially begun construction of the 'Gwanin1+ Center' in the area of 1000 Tandong-ri, Gwanin-myeon.
The 'Gwanin1+ Center' project involves renovating the aging Gwanin Community Hall and transforming it into a multi-purpose community space encompassing leisure, culture, and welfare.
It is expected to become a key anchor facility for the urban regeneration recognition project, providing high-quality public services and activity spaces for the local community.
The 'Gwanin1+ Center' will be built as a three-story building with a total floor area of 1,265 square meters. Completion is targeted for August 2026. The interior will feature a resident community space (book cafe), a youth community space (rest cafe), a senior health support center, a lifestyle culture center, and various other facilities. In addition, through the 'Happiness Road Landscape Project,' the city plans to provide a pleasant pedestrian environment for residents and visitors.
In particular, after completion, the facilities will be managed directly by local residents. This is expected to not only make it easier for residents to access various convenience facilities, but also to establish a foundation for self-sustaining operations through diverse revenue-generating attractions, thereby contributing to the revitalization of the local economy.
A Pocheon City official said, "We will accelerate the project to ensure that the Gwanin1+ Center becomes a space that revitalizes the region and enhances the quality of life for residents."
