Previously, on June 27, Lotte Duty Free held a bazaar at the Areumdawoon Store in Anguk, Jongno-gu, Seoul, where it donated and sold approximately 400 costumes and accessories used in advertising shoots, with all proceeds going to charity. Around 100 items donated by Lotte Duty Free employees were also sold at the event. The proceeds from the event will be used to support underprivileged groups both domestically and internationally, and to assist public interest activities. By donating items instead of discarding them, the company also reduced carbon emissions by 81 kg, thereby contributing to environmental protection.
Lotte Duty Free conducts employee volunteer activities every year at its headquarters and each branch. A notable example is its participation in the "Jupking" clean-up campaign around its Myeongdong branch after joining the Zero Seoul Corporate Practice Group last year. On June 5, in celebration of Environment Day, Lotte Internet Duty Free Store reopened its eco-friendly section. In both 2023 and 2024, Lotte Duty Free became the first company in the domestic duty-free industry to receive approval for the "Community Contribution Recognition Program," which is overseen by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea National Council on Social Welfare.
Seungguk Lee, Head of Compliance Division at Lotte Duty Free, said, "It was a beautiful day in which our employees participated in both item donation and social volunteering," and added, "We will continue to carry out various social contribution activities for those in need in our society."
