Stimulating Summer Vacation Consumption
A Wide Selection of Beverages Including Beer, Highballs, Makgeolli, and Wine
CU, the convenience store operated by BGF Retail, announced on June 29 that it will hold a discount event on more than 400 types of alcoholic beverages throughout July to coincide with the summer vacation season.
For beer, CU has prepared three types of promotions: 8 cans for 18,000 won, 3 large cans for 9,000 won, and bundle discounts. A total of 27 types of bundle beers will be sold at discounts of up to 54% compared to regular prices.
Highballs will also be included in the promotion. Customers can purchase any of CU's nine "Fresh Fruit Highball" series for 3,500 won per can when buying six cans. Four types of Jim Beam Highball will be available at a 44% discount compared to the regular price, at 13,500 won for a bundle purchase.
For Makgeolli, CU will offer discounts of up to 3,100 won on four types, including its premium "Takol," as well as "Haechang Saengmakgeolli" and "Neurinmaeul." In addition, for 12 types such as "Gapyeong Jatmakgeolli" and "Kooksoondang Saengmakgeolli," customers will receive a discount of up to 400 won per bottle when purchasing two or more bottles.
For wine, CU will offer a flat-rate discount event with up to 48% off on about 50 varieties, including "Yellow Tail Cabernet Sauvignon," "Ancient Cabernet Sauvignon," and "Montes Classic Cabernet Sauvignon," at set prices of 9,900 won, 12,900 won, and 15,900 won.
Additionally, Gillydew Scotch Whisky, which set records for the fastest and highest sales since its launch in December last year, will be available at a special promotional price of 9,900 won, a 3,000 won discount, throughout July.
Lee Seungtaek, head of the liquor team at BGF Retail, said, "We have prepared this opportunity so that customers can enjoy a wide variety of alcoholic beverages at affordable prices to meet the demand during the vacation season," adding, "We will continue to offer customized promotions that carefully consider customers' lifestyles and purchasing needs for each season."
