The special prosecutor team led by Min Jungki, tasked with investigating various allegations related to former President Yoon Sukyeol's wife, Kim Keonhee, has received all relevant cases from related investigative agencies and is currently reviewing the materials.
Moon Hongjoo, assistant special prosecutor for the Kim Keonhee special investigation team, explained on June 29 that all cases specified as investigation targets under the special prosecutor law, which are related to Kim Keonhee, have been transferred from the prosecution, police, and the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials (CIO).
The special prosecutor team plans to hold a nameplate unveiling ceremony at the special prosecutor's office in Jongno-gu, Seoul, on July 2, as soon as preparations in terms of personnel and resources are complete, and will then officially begin the investigation. Four assistant special prosecutors will divide the cases, with each taking charge of two to three teams.
The Min Jungki special prosecutor team will investigate 16 cases, including allegations of stock price manipulation involving Kim Keonhee, suspicions that corporations provided bribery-like sponsorships to exhibitions related to Covana Contents, and allegations of receiving high-priced luxury goods.
