Daegu Dalseo District (District Mayor Lee Taehun) held the '2025 On-Site Meeting with Women-Owned Businesses' at the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Regional Office of SMEs and Startups on June 26, 2025.
This meeting was organized to directly listen to the voices of women entrepreneurs and to seek practical support measures.
Daegu Dalseo District held a meeting with 15 women-owned businesses, and the participants are taking a commemorative photo.
The 'On-Site Meeting with Businesses' has been conducted since 2022 and has established itself as a communication channel to reflect the opinions from business sites in policy-making.
This year marks the 8th edition of the meeting, and for the first time, it was held exclusively for women-owned businesses. This is being recognized as a meaningful initiative that reflects the current trends of gender equality and expanding corporate diversity.
The meeting was attended by representatives from 15 women-owned businesses in Dalseo District and 10 related organizations. Various policies and support measures were introduced, including policy funds exclusively for women-owned businesses, public institution preferential purchasing programs, employment support for hiring women and overcoming career interruptions.
In addition, a free discussion among business representatives provided an opportunity to directly share challenges and to jointly explore effective improvement tasks and cooperation measures, which received a positive response from the participants.
Daegu Dalseo District plans to immediately deliver the questions and suggestions collected during the meeting to the relevant departments, and to actively respond by consulting with related ministries on mid- to long-term issues so that field-oriented policy improvements can be made.
As of the end of last year, there were 432 women-owned businesses in Daegu Dalseo District.
Lee Taehun, Mayor of Daegu Dalseo District, stated, "Women-owned businesses are a key growth engine driving the local economy," and added, "This meeting served as a practical venue for communication to reflect voices from the field in policy, and we will continue to provide tailored systems and administrative support so that women-owned businesses can fully realize their potential."
