US Treasury Secretary: "Trade Talks Could Be Concluded by Labor Day, September 1"

Scott Besant, the U.S. Treasury Secretary leading the Trump administration's foreign trade negotiations, projected that trade talks with major countries could be concluded by Labor Day, September 1, 2025.

In an interview with Fox Business on June 27 (local time), Secretary Besant stated, "We have 18 significant trading partners. If we are able to reach agreements with 10 or 12 of these major countries, there are another 20 important (trade) relationships. In that case, I believe we can wrap up the trade negotiations by Labor Day."

He added, "It seems that many countries are feeling the pressure," and "Countries are approaching us with very good deals."
