A Korean Air passenger flight bound for Jeju, which requested an emergency landing due to an aircraft malfunction, landed safely.

According to the Jeju Fire Safety Headquarters, on June 27, at approximately 3:25 p.m., Korean Air flight KE1585 departed from Sacheon Airport in Jinju, South Gyeongsang Province. At around 4:14 p.m., the flight requested an emergency landing and fire response at Jeju Airport.

At the time, the captain informed air traffic control that "there may be difficulty decelerating upon landing due to a flap malfunction" and requested "prompt landing assistance."

In response, the Jeju Fire Safety Headquarters urgently deployed 12 vehicles, including command and special-purpose vehicles, and about 30 personnel to the airport.

Fortunately, the aircraft landed safely at around 4:20 p.m. All 163 passengers on board were unharmed.

Korean Air stated, "All passengers have disembarked safely," and added, "We are conducting maintenance to determine the cause of the flap malfunction."
