Israel Strikes Large Underground Hezbollah Facility Amid Reconstruction Attempts

Israeli Military:
"Reconstruction Attempts Are a Blatant Violation
of the Ceasefire Agreement"

The Israeli military announced on June 26 (local time) that it had carried out an airstrike on a large underground facility in the Beaufort mountain area near Nabatieh in southern Lebanon, where Hezbollah, the Iran-backed militant group, was attempting reconstruction.

On this day, the Israeli military stated that it had identified Hezbollah's attempts to rebuild the facility, which had previously been rendered unusable by earlier airstrikes, and launched another attack. The military criticized this, saying, "The existence of this facility and the attempts to rebuild it are blatant violations of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon."

The military further declared, "We will not tolerate Hezbollah operating in this area and will continue to take action to eliminate any threats against Israel."

In response, Lebanon's state-run NNA news agency reported, "Israel bombed an apartment in Nabatieh, resulting in one death and thirteen injuries."

Israel and Hezbollah have been in conflict since the outbreak of the Gaza Strip war in October 2023. Although the two sides reached a ceasefire agreement in November last year, Israel has continued its airstrikes, citing issues with the withdrawal process of Hezbollah forces from the south.
